Duck soup is a comedy movie made by the Marx brothers. Duck Soup consists of a tiny nation called Freedonia which goes bankrupt. Their wealthiest person Mrs. Gloria Teasdale who will give the country $20 million is a new person is placed for leadership which is a wacky guy named Rufus T. Firefly. The bordering nation Sylvania notices the weakness of the country in strength and weakness and send two spies (Pinky and Chicolini) to set the stage for a revolution. After Firefly clashes withe their Sylvanian ambassador all out war commences. Duck Soups themes are all black and white, with the cameras being rather close to the people who are talking. One of the most famous scenes from the movie is the mirror scene which has actor Lucy and Harpo Marx one being on different sides. It’s not a real mirror but two people playing either sides. The movie is 70 mins long and is the last movie that all the Marx brothers do together. With 5 more being made but not with every Marx brother. With the movie starting off with Mrs Gloria and Rufus talking. It funny and stupid at the same time, it’s stupid funny as the actors do dumb stuff that people find funny. The camera people do a good job getting everyone that is taking into the screen and making sure they turn and get everyone in the picture. In the movie it moves rather fast since it goes strait to Rufus becoming the leader and having everything else come quickly after. They do a good job with the story since I am able to understand everything that is going on. Lastly the theme of the movie is good how it switches from section to section with everything in it having meaning and nothing left out. The characters face expressions and reactions also make it lovely to watch since it is very fast paced. Overall the movie is a funny and intriguing movie to watch and makes you not want to stop watching it until your done. With the characters and crew making it great and one of the best Marx Brothers movies to date.
