Hamlet is one of the most well known plays ever. With its amazing pieces of literature and famous phrases. One of the best scenes would be Act V Scene II which is the big fighting scene between Hamlet and Laertes. It starts off with Hamlet finding a sealed letter by Claudius ordering his death in England. Hamlet then switches the letter with his own using his fathers seal ordering the death of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. A servant invites Hamlet to fight Laertes in a duel to make amends. The court comes to watch the fight and it starts of with Hamlet apologizing to Laertes and says “Give me your pardon, sir: I’ve done you wrong”. After the men choose their weapons for the fight and Laertes chooses a sword with a poisoned tip. Claudius drinks some wine before dropping a poisoned pearl inside of it and offering some to Hamlet but he declines. During the fight Gertrude drinks some of the wine, Claudius tries his best to stop her but it’s to late and Gertrude dies. The fight still goes on and they end up switched swords and which makes them both get wounded by the poison sword. Laertes slowly dies off first with Hamlet shortly after. Before dying Hamlet demands he shall stay alive so he can tell his side of the story Osric and announces Fortinbras from Poland as the leader and dies. The scene of Act V Scene II is held in a a hall where the King and Hamlet fight. The actors are dramatic which makes you attracted more into watching it, and the characters are all their own personalities and emotions that make Hamlet what it is. Lastly the whole stage is used from the stairs, the room, upstairs, kings throne, etc. I choose this scene because it is one of the most intriguing scenes with the fighting scene and is the last scene of the play. Also with the deaths of Hamlet and the King it has a lot in it to learn about.
