Work of Art

I loved this picture from the moment I saw it because it shows what society has become. People are so caught up in their iPhones, laptops, iPods, etc. that they lose the thought of reading a book or learning something new. All these new iPhones are making our lives simpler while at the same time sucking us into forgetting about the things that make us smarter and engaging our brains to think harder. Although going on Twitter is fun it doesn’t engage our brain in thinking about a real-world idea that will help us grow. Now when people don’t know or don’t understand a word they just move past it, but we should be wondering what it means. This picture engages us to realize that phones are sucking us closer into them every single day and helps us realize that books are here to help get us out of this hypnotized state we’re all in. There’s a point and time where phones can be helpful but they can also be addicting. I hat really spoke to me right away was the fact that the book was the main idea trying to get expressed in the image. Since so many people are starting to forget about books because phone can do it all and more now. Also this photo speaks to me cause everyone is addicted to their phones. If people didn’t have their phones they wouldn’t be able to survive cause there so dependent on their phones doing everything for them, but we have to be dependent on ourselves for things that happen and rely on our decisions to move farther into the world besides a phone. The water being phones also shows us that we get drowned into technology these days and it’s making it harder for us to survive. We can have phones and other electronics but we can’t keep abusing them like we are. We need to be capable of taking a break from them and setting them down for awhile, if we did I bet we would all see the difference right away.
